Documenting Impact

A 3-part virtual workshop series to help you begin documenting the story of your community-engaged work.

This workshop series is designed to help organizations and research teams start documenting stories from their community-engaged work. Whether you're preparing for a funding opportunity, doing internal reflection, or wanting to uplift community voice, this series will give you practical tools and space to reflect on what stories you have and what stories you still need. Through guided exercises, examples, and small-group discussion, you’ll build a foundation for meaningful, ethical storytelling that you can build on over time.

Who It’s For

  • Communications and program staff who want to start telling their program’s story more clearly

  • Founders who have been meaning to get the story written down about how their program started

  • Community-facing teams who are capturing powerful experiences but don’t know how to organize or share them

  • Organizations with limited capacity who want guidance and inspiration before jumping into a full storytelling initiative

What You’ll Learn

  • How to define your storytelling goals and audiences

  • Ways to document stories that reflect your mission and relationships

  • Tips for ethical collection and care of community narratives

  • How to start small and grow your capacity over time

  • When to bring in outside support (and what that can look like)

By the end of the series, you'll walk away with:

  • A starter plan for documenting your program’s story

  • Tools to reflect on and organize the stories you already have

  • A clear next step based on your goals
