Founder Story Lab

Your work has depth. Your writing should reflect it.

You’ve built something you’re proud of, and now you’re stepping into new opportunities with speaking, writing, and thought leadership. But when it comes to putting your work and your stories into writing, it still feels scattered, time-consuming, or incomplete.

The Founder Story Lab helps you turn your lived expertise into a clear, organized bank of stories and quotes you can actually use that reflect both your journey and the leader you are today.

This is for you if…

  • You’re a founder who is building visibility as a speaker, author, or thought leader

  • You’re balancing multiple roles and don’t have time to “figure out your messaging” from scratch

  • You’ve evolved but your content, bio, or talking points still reflect an earlier version of you

  • You want to attract more aligned, higher-level opportunities without chasing or over-explaining your work

What’s getting in the way right now

It’s not that you lack experience or insight. It’s that:

  • your ideas live across conversations, notes, and half-written drafts,

  • your strongest stories aren’t clearly captured or easy to access,

  • writing content feels like starting from zero every time,

  • and there’s no system to help you consistently show up in a way that reflects who you are now.

What changes inside the Founder Story Lab

Instead of trying to “find time to write,” you’ll have:

  • A curated storybank of your own words, insights, and experiences

  • Key quotes and themes pulled directly from how you naturally speak and think

  • A clear way to draw from your work for:

    • talks and keynote development

    • bios and speaking materials

    • long-form writing

    • social media and public-facing content

How it works

This is a focused, high-touch process designed to respect your time and go deep without adding overwhelm.

Over the course of 6 weeks, you’ll receive:

  • Three 60-minute 1:1 sessions
Structured conversations where we surface the stories, insights, and successes in your work

  • Annotated transcripts + your custom storybank
I organize your words into clear themes, quotes, and narrative threads you can immediately use

  • One 30-minute wrap-up session
To refine how you’ll apply your storybank moving forward

  • Weekly emails and resources for building your storybank and narrative strategy over time

We schedule the sessions based on your availability. Participants usually complete this in 6-8 weeks, but have up to 3 months to schedule all sessions.

Why this is different

It’s a process grounded in how you actually think, speak, and make meaning of your work.

With 14+ years as a qualitative researcher, I’m trained to:

  • listen deeply,

  • identify patterns and themes across what you share, and

  • amplify the most compelling, aligned parts of your story

I’ve also supported writers in documenting stories about their community-engaged work across academic, nonprofit, and community settings. I’m fluent in Spanish and English and ready to help you develop a storybank that reflects the core of who you are to better set the stage for your next chapter.

What others have to say…

“I lead a thriving and bustling research lab. I also give keynote talks, and I coach other scholars and give workshops. I'm very grateful to Rachel for giving me the time and the space to tell my story and tap into where I've evolved and what has stayed constant throughout the years.

For me, the transformation has been, ‘Wow, I'm kind of a badass.’ Sitting and having somebody like Rachel taking in your words, and really seeing you, is something that I don't think you're going to get from a lot of coaches or guides.”

About Rachel

Hi! I’m Rachel. I’m the mom of two boys, a small business owner, and a community engagement professional based in the greater Milwaukee area.

I’m originally from the suburbs of Chicago, but have lived across the Midwestern United States (IL-WI-NE-KS-OH-WI). In my 20s, I spent many of my summers working and traveling in Latin America, primarily in the Dominican Republic and El Salvador. For almost a decade, I worked as a writing professor and community-engaged researcher focused on language, translation, and community health promotion in Spanish speaking communities. My most recent work focused on reproductive justice and promotores de salud (Latine health promoters). As part of that work, I co-founded a storytelling project called Cuentos de Confianza (Stories of Trust/Confidence), which focused on stories about reproductive justice written by promotores de salud (Latine health promoters). Around the same time, I also launched my consulting business, which has supported multiple reproductive health organizations and promotores de salud programs in capacity building, training design, and curriculum review.

In 2024, I decided to leave my tenured faculty position to build Confianza Collective as a space for community rooted founders to get the stories behind their work written down. Bringing together my experiences as a qualitative researcher and writing teacher, I developed a storybank method for this lab to build confianza (trust & confidence) for founder storytelling. Outside of Confianza Collective, I manage community outreach and engagement programs at a regional Cancer Center.

Outside of work, I enjoy meetups at local coffee shops, spending time outside with my family, and sending voice notes to friends while walking my dog, Luna.
